Jacob Baglin, born in Townsville (1993) is a painter currently living and working on the Mornington Peninsula in Naarm (Melbourne). After traveling south-east Australia and Tasmania he completed a Diploma of Fine Arts at Frankston TAFE in 2013. He underwent his Bachelors of Fine Art at Victorian College of the Arts from 2014 to 2017. Baglin has been awarded painting prizes at both TAFE and VCA. He has participated in numerous group shows, and had his debut solo show at 484 Presents in 2021. Baglin is held in private collections in Australia.
Baglin’s practice as of the last few years has focused on painting his immediate surroundings of the Mornington Peninsula foreshore. Resulting is a substantial (and continuing) body of emotive landscape paintings that envelop and compel the viewer to look and experience the world with the attention to detail that Baglin offers.
